Lava™
Arcari Dental is proud to offer dentists the Lava Crown & Bridge system. A conventional technique, with unconventional results. The Lava system provides some of the most durable and esthetic all-ceramic restorations available today.
Lava system presents an innovative CAD/CAM technology for all-ceramic crown & bridge on a zirconia base. The base is a high-tech ceramic material that is characterized by its outstanding stability and biocompatibility, as well as strength level significantly higher than other ceramic materials. The material displays excellent esthetics and precise fit characteristics.

Indicated for single-unit crowns and 8-unit bridges with a maximum span length of 55 mm. Ideal for inlay bridges, wing-type bridges and implant copings. Cantilever bridges with one pontic can be fabricated if the bridge has a double abutment.
Contraindications
Lava is not indicated when there is less than 1.5 mm of occlusal space, feather-edge margins or bridge length is greater than 55 mm.
Anterior full-coverage crowns require a Chamfer with 1.5- 2.0 mm facial reduction, 1 – 1.5 mm lingual contact clearance, 1.5 – 2 mm incisal reduction, 1 – 1.5 mm reduction at the gingival margin with rounded internal line angles; or a Shoulder with 1 mm lingual reduction, 2 mm incisal reduction, 1.5 mm labial reduction, 1 mm 360 degree rounded shoulder.
Posterior full-coverage crowns require a Chamfer margin with 1.5 – 2 mm occlusal reduction, 1.5 mm buccal and lingual reduction with rounded internal line angles; or a Shoulder with 1.5 – 2 mm occlusal reduction, 1.5 mm buccal and lingual reduction and 1 – 1.5 mm gingival margin reduction with rounded internal line angles.
Chamfer Margins – Correct preparation of the chamfer margins interproximally allows the appropriate bulk of porcelain. In addition, Lava has a digital wax up to bulk up the zirconia substructure when extra support for the ceramic is needed.
A Slice Preparation – This technique enables the ceramist to close the space and avoid unnatural lingual contoursPanavia 21

It is not suggested to adjust the internal aspect of the zirconia. If an adjustment is required on the veneering ceramic, use a fine diamond at low-speed with water and air to keep the ceramic from fracturing. To polish the ceramic, use a porcelain polishing system or pink rubber wheel and diamond polishing paste (Brasseler, Shofu, and Vident).
